Yesterday, I got a chance to go mountain biking and did not realize how covered the trails would be from all the fallen leaves. I have to admit, I felt a little intimidated at first because it was very hard to see the trail. I didn’t go super fast (not that I can) because I wanted to make sure I did not go off the trail, or hit something that could make me wreck.
I have been noticing over the past couple of months that my husband has only been riding his single speed bike when we go mountain biking. At first, I didn’t think anything about it, but then I started wondering what the big deal was? He had bought a Gary Fisher single speed bike a couple of years ago from someone off of Craigslist and rode it off and on, but now he is riding it all the time! Continue reading
My husband emailed me this video today and I laughed practically the whole time while I watched it. Why? Because it reminded me so much of our earlier rides together when I was just learning. Don’t get me wrong, I am still learning, but I have come a long way from last year. Whoever made the video reversed the roles. Probably to keep a lot of arguments from breaking out with couples. LOL
When I was in my thirties and first started out on my weight loss journey, I lived in Florida. There was a paved bicycle trail that went from one city to another, and a friend and I would ride it a few times a week for some exercise. My favorite part of the ride was when the path went through a wooded area. It was always so pretty and a lot cooler, because of all the shade the trees provided. I always took my time going through these areas of the trail because I enjoyed it so much. Continue reading
