I wanted to have something different for breakfast this morning, so I grabbed some Fage Greek Yogurt and fresh fruit from my fridge before heading to work. I have never had Fage 0% before, but had heard so much about it that I figured I should give it a try. I must admit that I didn’t expect it to be so smooth and creamy. I usually go for the flavored Greek yogurts with 100 calories or less, but I am trying to stay away from sugar substitutes, so I thought I would revamp my breakfast routine. My usual breakfast at work is either oatmeal, or Yoplait Lemon Greek yogurt with a Fiber One Lemon Bar crumbled inside of it. I try to incorporate as much protein and fiber in my diet as I can on most days. I believe that this breakfast is definitely a winner! The only bowl I had at my desk was a blue Dixie bowl, and I think that made the whole Patriotic theme tie together nicely. Now did I set out for this to happen? No, but I can’t say that it didn’t bring a smile to my face as I ate it. 🙂
So, what’s in my Patriotic Parfait?
6 oz container Fage Total 0% Greek Yogurt
½ cup of fresh sliced strawberries
¼ cup of fresh blackberries
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon raw almond slivers
Directions: Place half of the yogurt in bottom of dish, top with half of the berries, then drizzle a little honey on top. Repeat steps and finish off with the almond slivers and chocolate chips. Now, if you don’t want to be as fancy as me with my Dixie bowl, I’m sure a nice parfait glass would look just as pretty. 😉 wink

I love making this smoothie when I am needing some extra protein or don’t have time for breakfast. I used a mix of frozen cherries and blackberries for this smoothie, but you can use whatever combination of fruit you prefer. If you do not enjoy the taste of yogurt, this might not be the smoothie for you.
1 cup of Kefir
1/2 cup of fresh or frozen cherries
1/2 cup of fresh or frozen blackerries
2 packets of Stevia (sometimes I use a tablespoon of honey)
Directions: Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Hi! My name is Dana and welcome to my page. Right now I am in the process of developing this page, but in the meantime, I would like to answer a question you may be wondering about. “Just what the heck does urwhaturnot mean?” 🙂
In a nutshell, urwhaturnot simply means this: Whatever you were created to be, you already are. It doesn’t matter what your circumstance is right now, how you look, or how you perceive yourself to be….you are what you are not. George Washington was a president the day he was born. He had everything that he needed inside of him when he let out his first cry. Sure, it had to be developed, but nevertheless it was there! It just needed to be unlocked.
We all go through different things in life that help us to discover, and to unlock, the potential that is deep within us. My hope is that by creating this blog, it will not only help me to unlock even more of who I am created to be, but also that it can help you unlock who YOU were created to be. In the coming days, I will be blogging about weight loss, aging, divorce, spirituality, and much more.
